This was inspired by Northern and Southern California deciding they could each support a filk con once a year, instead of alternating, and in particular by the introduction in the program book of the first October Con-Chord (the Southern California filkcon; BayFilk was the Northern one, later succeeded by Consonance). The Ohio Valley Filk Fest had been annual for years.
