He was a lonely alien without a name.
He never heard of music ’til the humans came.
He really loves to harmonize,
But he never found out, until they came from the skies:
The human colonists, singing melodies.
Now he’s the boogie-woogie boogieman of Betelgeuse 3.
They threw a celebration of the star flight age.
They got a bunch of singers to get up on stage.
The monster must have been enthralled,
Because he broke down the door, and he captured them all.
And now the colony jumps when they hear harmonies
From the boogie-woogie boogieman of Betelgeuse 3.
He never misses a note.
And he’s got rhythm!
But he can’t find the key unless a humanoid throat
Is singing with him.
It makes the colony jump when they hear harmonies
From the boogie-woogie boogieman of Betelgeuse 3.
He’s the dread boogie-woogie boogieman of Betelgeuse 3!
He makes ’em sing, keeps ’em up for hours; it’s not a pretty sight to see.
And when he sings, he makes the prisoners sing, A-minor key.
He’s the boogie-woogie boogieman of Betelgeuse 3.
He never misses a note.
But he can’t find the key if a humanoid throat
Isn’t with him.
And the colony jumps when they hear harmonies
From the boogie-woogie boogieman of Betelgeuse 3.
He reaches from the air vents with his bony hand.
He captures little children for his eerie band.
They teach their kids to sing off-key.
’Cause that’s the best way they know for making sure they stay free.
It really messes up all the harmonies
Of the boogie-woogie boogieman of Betelgeuse 3.
And the colony jumps when they hear harmonies
From the boogie-woogie boogieman of Betelgeuse 3.
